"450th Anniversary of Juan Pardo Expeditions" - Exploring Joara Foundation
Celebrate with a display of Spanish and Native American Burke County history that archaeologists, scientists and volunteers have uncovered at the 16th century Spanish Fort of San Juan and Native American village of Joara just outside of Morganton North Carolina. This exhibit tells the story of the first European colony in North Carolina and will also preview the events planned to commemorate the 450th anniversary of the founding of Fort San Juan that occurred in January, 1567.
Art in the Hall is a juried art and display program located at Morganton City Hall 305 East Union Street, Suite A100, Morganton, NC. City Hall is open 8AM-5PM Monday-Friday and closed on holidays.
