Farmers Market Annual Meeting

Interested in getting involved in the Morganton Farmers Market? Do you have questions about what to expect for the 2019 market season? Then join us at the Morganton Community House on Tuesday, February 12th for the Annual Farmers Market Meeting. From 5:30-7pm we will dine and discuss items involving the 2019 season. Starting dates, ending dates, holiday market dates, WIC program, EBT & Fresh Bucks, and more will be discussed! If planning to attend, please RSVP by Tuesday, February 5th.

ACC Chili Cook Off!

25th Annual ACC Chili Cook-Off

Get set and get ready for the annual ACC Chili Cook-Off presented by Farm Bureau Insurance. The event will take place Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at the Morganton Community House (120 North King Street). A BARGAIN PRICED $7.00 ticket buys all-you-can-eat chili with ALL the fixin’s, cornbread, salad, desert and drink! (If you're busy, you can get it to go!). Tickets go on sale February 1st.

Crawl with us during the St. Patrick's Day FAB Crawl (Food, Art & Brew) in downtown Morganton.
Retailers, Restaurants, Breweries, Pubs, and Art Studios are signing up to participate in the ALL DAY FAB Crawl on Saturday, March 16th. This St. Patrick's Day FAB Crawl will include some Irish favorites: chef's specials, GREEN beer, music and more await all FAB Crawlers. Also, the Ridgeline Trolley will be available from 5:00-8:00pm that evening to help you get from spot to spot in downtown. And perhaps you'll spy a leprechaun or two during your visit!

Join us for this amazing Mini Market opening day on Wednesday, May 1st from 12:00-4:00pm. The Wednesday Mini-Market is located at 111 North Green Street, at the corner of Green Street and Avery Avenue. From I-40, take Exit 105, make a right turn and follow South Sterling Street approximately 2.5 miles under the railroad tracks and past the historic courthouse (to your left). The Mini-Market will be on the next corner on the left! The Wednesday Mini Market operates EVERY Wednesday from May 1st to October 30th.

Join us for the opening day of the 2019 season of the Morganton Farmers Market. The Saturday Morganton Farmers Market is located at 300 Beach Street, behind Maria's Italian Eatery and More Lace at Morganton Station. From I-40, take Exit 105, make a right turn and follow South Sterling Street approximately 2 miles under the railroad tracks and then make a right turn. The Saturday Market operates EVERY Saturday from April 27th to October 26th.

Center Square Park Public Meeting

The Main Street Program will host two public meetings, one on June 25 and another August 1, from 5:30pm-7:30pm in the downstairs of the Collett Street Recreation Center for public input about Center Square Park. We want you to help re-imagine the grounds of the Courthouse Square lawn by building on the plans conceptualized during the 2018 Downtown Masterplan.

M.A.D.E. Competition

The 2018 M.A.D.E. (Morganton Arts Design and Engineering) Competition brought together seven Burke County Middle and High Schools to go head to head in the Eco Chair Challenge. The Historic Morganton Festival, Inc. along with Burke County Public Schools is proud to announce the 2019 M.A.D.E. Challenge. During Friday, September 6th and Saturday, September 7th; area Middle and High School students will compete in the “Junkyard Design Challenge”, an on site engineering and design challenge during the Morganton Festival in downtown Morganton.

Warren who documented creepy events, spooky stories and some bizarre history.  The 1.5 hour-long, scenic tour tells of local history, strange sightings and folklore during a mile and a half walking tour of historic downtown Morganton.  Some stories date back 500 years!

The Annual October Oyster and Shrimp Festival, an annual fundraiser for the Burke Arts Council, will take place on Saturday, October 19th on the Old Court House Square and the Burke Arts Council property at 115 E Meeting Street in Downtown Morganton. Calling all goblins, vampires, super heroes, princesses and gypsies and everything in between! Come to Downtown Morganton Thursday, Oct. 31, and enjoy the annual Downtown Trick-or-Treating and Halloween Spooktacular! We'll have trick-or-treating at downtown businesses from 3-5pm. Due to the weather forecast the hayrides, inflatables, games, and costume contests on the square have been canceled.
